Modern Climbing & SRS - Training Seminar & Hands On Workshop
Date:
October 3, 2019 - October 4, 2019
Location:
Maurie Jacobs Park, Eugene, OR, UNITED STATES
Organizer:
CRUX Climbing, Rigging & Training, Corp.
Description:
Please join us for this two-day training event prior to the 2019 PNW-ISA Tree Climbing Championships!!
DAY 1 of training is seminar style where CRUX Instructors will lecture and demonstrate on modern climbing, with special focus on Stationary Rope Systems (SRS) tools and techniques.
DAY 2 is an optional hands-on training for entry level to moderate experience with Stationary Rope Systems (SRS).
Those who attend will break into smaller groups to get an opportunity to work with Stationary Rope Systems to gain a better understanding of how the gear is setup and how systems are employed. By physically climbing and having a smaller student-to-teacher ratio, everyone involved will have the chance to set up and tear down the systems while getting the chance to ascend and descend.
Participants are encouraged to bring their personal climbing equipment and PPE while instructors will have gear available to try out as well. However, the ultimate goal is to set up every participant with an SRS system of their own! In the case that you do not already have an SRS system of your own, or have equipment or PPE in need of replacement, RDO Vermeer will be on site with climbing equipment available for purchase.
Space is limited to 20 participants for this Hands-On Workshop and lunch for both DAY 1 and DAY 2 included!! Please register ASAP to take advantage of this great training opportunity!
