Description:
This year Payson City will be hosting our 26th Annual Tree Climbing Championship on May 30 – June 1, 2019. On Thursday, May 30th, between 5-8pm competitors are required to have their gear checked. On Friday and Saturday, competitors will compete in five events: Work Climb, Aerial Rescue, Belayed Sped Climb, Ascent Event, and Throw Line; three on Friday and two on Saturday. The top three/four climbers in these events will compete in the Master Challenge climb on Saturday. The winner in this event will compete at the International Tree Climb Championship in Knoxville, TN on August 9-11, 2019.
Since there is a lot of preparation for this event, climber registrations must be received by May 1st. We urge you to register early as this is a popular and fun event. If a climber is a member of the Utah Community Forest Council, registration is $100. For non-members, registration is $145. Remember, you must be a current member and live and work within 300 miles of Salt Lake City, Utah by February 28th, to win prizes. If your membership has expired or you want to be a member, the membership rate is $50.
